Trent Preszler, Ph. D., is the C.E.O. of Bedell Cellars, a winery on the North Fork of Long Island. He also builds wooden boats in a nineteenth-century barn under his eponymous brand, Preszler Woodshop, which has 120,000 Instagram followers. Preszler grew up on a cattle ranch in South Dakota and rode horse to a one-room country schoolhouse near the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. He earned a Ph.D. in Horticulture from Cornell University in 2012.
Newsday produced a short documentary film about his life that won the 2018 New York Emmy Award for Best Lifestyle Feature. His memoir, Little and Often, will be published next year by the William Morrow imprint of HarperCollins.
