HEIDI JON SCHMIDT
Heidi Jon Schmidt grew up on her parents makeshift farm in Northwestern CT, graduated from Bennington College and the University of Iowa Writers Workshop. She came to Provincetown to take a fellowship at the Fine Arts Work Center in 1982, met her husband and settled here with him, raising their daughter Marisa and writing 5 books, the last 2 of which are set on the Outer Cape. She’s also published stories and essays in the New York Times, The Atlantic and many others.
It is her ambition to write stories full of the feelings of real life, the surprises and poignancy of human connections, the comedy and heroism inherent in our everyday doings.
