Dave Bushy is the author of “The World Looked Away – Vietnam After the War: Quoc Pham’s Story.”
This is Dave’s first book, though he has written extensively in professional publications throughout his career, as well as contributing articles regularly on-line.
Dave is a resident of North Eastham, Massachusetts. He is a consultant and executive coach and serves clients in aviation and in a number of other business sectors. He is active in his community as vice chair of the Cape Cod Community College Board of Trustees and Board Member of the Aviation Accreditation Board International.
Dave worked as a reporter for the New Haven Register as a staff reporter during his college years from 1970-1974.
Prior to his retirement from the corporate world in 2013, Dave was involved in commercial aviation for 37 years. After his start at Pilgrim Airlines, he served at Delta Air Lines for 25 years, as a captain and check airman, as well as chief pilot and eventually senior vice president of flight operations. He was with JetBlue Airways from 2003-2006 as its first vice president of flight operations and was recruited by Cape Air/ Nantucket Airlines in 2006 to serve as its chief operating officer. He added the title of president of Cape Air in 2010.
Dave served in the U.S. Army shortly after American involvement in the war, as an Armor and Counterintelligence officer. He was Airborne and Ranger qualified. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He earned his M.S. in Industrial Relations from the University of New Haven. He is also a graduate of the Executive Coaching Program at the Gestalt International Study Center in Cape Cod.
